Reading - Continue to read daily. Either use books you have at home or use Oxford Owl Reading or Collins Connect. If you are unsure about the level of your child's reading, please contact me via email.

Worksheet:  
Read the questions and think carefully about what it is asking? Is there more of something being added or is something being taken away? Do you need to add or subtract? 
Visualising: Try drawing a picture of the problem to help you. 
 
 
Writing 
 
Discuss your weekend and write about it using the template. Try to use different sentence starters, First, Next, Then, After that,... 
Draw a picture at the bottom. 
Tue 
WALT: Solve problems using addition and subtraction skills, selecting the operation required. 
 
• Worksheet: 
Read the questions and think carefully about what it is asking? Do you need to add or subtract? 
• Visualising: Picture what is happening. Try drawing a picture of the problem to help you. 
 
 
Read & Respond 
• Watch and listen to the story ‘Elmer’ by David McKee  
 
• Discuss about why Elmer was unique; one of a kind, something special about him that was different to anyone else. 
 
• Worksheet: Colour Elmer and write about what made him unique. 
Wed 
WALT: Solve problems using addition and subtraction skills, selecting the operation required.

• Think back to yesterday’s story. Discuss what is unique about you. What is special? Is there something you can do that others can't? 
Worksheet: Draw a picture of yourself and write about what makes you sepcial 
 
Thu 
WALT: Interpret data from a pictogram 
 
• Play 'Pictograph Game' . Look at the pictograph/ pictogram and answer the questions. 
 
• Worksheet - Look at the pictogram of favourite colours. Complete the sentences. 
 
Writing 
• My Summer Bucket List 
• I'm sure at the minute we all have a 'bucket list' of things we can't wait to do when the summer holidays start, or, as is the case this year, when lockdown is over!!!! 
• Discuss with your child some of the things they are looking forward to e.g. play with friends, go to the beach, play at the park etc. 
• Worksheet: Inside the bucket your child can write what they would like to do. Their sentence should start, 'I want to....' and they should finish it with their own ideas. Try to write 3 or more sentences. 
• Remember to keep writing neat, use full stops, capital letters and finger spaces 
• Colour in when you are finished 
Fri 
WALT: Create a pictogram to represent data 
 
• Use the information in the worksheet to create your own pictogram. 
Go to the website J2Data. You can print your completed work.
