We Are Learning To (WALT): Estimate objects within 10 • ‘Estimating’ means to make a guess. We are going to practice estimating how many objects are in a set. When estimating you have to make a guess quickly, you won’t always get the exact answer but we hope to be only a few numbers out. • Watch and complete the powerpoint, making estimates of the number of objects, then seeing if you were close to the answer. Writing Weekend news Discuss your weekend. Think of 1 or 2 sentences you could write. Use the word bank to help you. Draw a picture of your news. Help them write it using the word bank provided, or by copying word they get stuck on. Remember a capital letter at the start of a sentence and a full stop at the end. |

WALT: Identify and complete patterns Enjoy completing the patterns in the Topmarks link. • Worksheet: Finish the bead pattern by drawing the correct number of beads on the rods. We call this a 1:2 pattern as it goes 1 bead, then 2 beads. Choose 2 colours to colour in; 1 color for 1 bead and then another colour for both of the 2 beads. Complete the shape pattern at the bottom of the page. Talk about the sequence of the shapes; 1 square, 2 circles, 1 square, 2 circles. What comes next? Draw the shapes. Choose 2 colours to complete your work; 1 colour for the squares and a 2nd colour for all the circles. |

Writing • Read the online story ‘Three Little Pigs’ • Retell the story in your own words. How much detail can you remember? • Worksheet – Order the pictures into the correct order for the story. Now write a sentence to retell each picture. Take your time and complete this over 2 days |

WALT: Identify properties of 2D shapes • Worksheet: Cut the shapes and sort them by the given properties. Discuss the properties of the shapes as you are sorting – straight or curved lines, how many sides/ corners? |
